My favorite shopping trip was a couple of weeks ago on December 31. I scored some good deals at CVS and some great ones at JC Penny's. It was a fun day.

Great contest Marva! I have 2 helpful tips that come in pretty handy for me.

When we go shopping I always make sure and feed my toddler lunch or a big snack before we go out. It buys me a little more time in the store to compare prices and find great deals, and it keeps him from begging for all of those cookies that I shouldn't be buying :)

Also make friends where you shop. I have become friends with the sales associates at our local Walgreens. Whenever we visit they always tell me of the great deals that are going on, that haven't been advertised.

Every little bit helps :)

Thanks for doing this! We get our best deals at CVS, although this past week I managed to find some great deals at Kroger and Old Navy too! I just blogged about it a few minutes ago!

My favorite frugal shopping tip is to never ever go to the grocery store when you are hungry. You tend to overspend on items that you would normally not purchase.

My favorite frugal shopping tip is to ake just the amount of cash that you need to buy the items on your list. That way you won't overspend or be tempted by other goodies.

I always look at the sales adds for local grocery stores and walgreens(dont have a CVS) and then I make my list of things I need and then I match up coupons and if I can stack them I do.

And of course never go to the store hungry. Buy needs only not wants

My favorite tip is: The key to using coupons is to use them with sale/clearance prices & possible store coupons. This way, you get the maximun savings possible! Thanks! 'SavingWithTheModestMomma'

My tip(s).....try to combine your coupons with a sale for the best price....also, always bring ALL of your coupons....our local Winco doesn't advertise in the paper(they pretty much have the lowest prices around but you never know what will be on sale)......if I have a coupon that may be expiring soon and the item is on sale, I'll stock up:)...Ellie

OK, just after midnight here Eastern Time, but I will give it a try anyway! I got here by "blog hopping"! LOL

We have 6 children 9 1/2 yrs. down to 20 month old twins, so need to be frugal. I shop Aldi's for the bulk of our groceries, Walmart for a few items, a local bread outlet for cheaper whole wheat bread, and I just started the CVS shopping around Thanksgiving time.

I think my best shopping trip recently was hitting 3 different CVS's in one day a while after Christmas. I did some of the monthly Extra Care Buck deals, some of the weekly sales, picked up lots of Christmas clearance for gifts for the year ahead, etc., and saved over $250 in one day! I did not spend much out of pocket either--I can't remember the exact figures. I buy gifts for our children all year long--clearance shopping after all the holidays, yard sales, thrift stores, etc., so don't have to stress when birthday or Christmas time comes.

I am past the time on your contest, so I'll jump on board next time. Funny as it sounds, I tend to think everybody knows all my shopping hints. I can't imagine shopping without them. But I'm hoping to learn some new ones here. Hope your little guys get better soon. It IS that time of the year when the cold bug seems to run rampant. Take care.
