This is my very favorite recipe for homemade fabric softener. I make my own as much as I buy premade, but am going to make this more often to help the pocketbook! My aunt gave this recipe to me 10 years ago when John and I married. I love the fact of the ease of making it.
2 c. baking soda
2 c. white vinegar
4 c. water
Mix well. Store in plastic container.
To use: Shake well. Add 1/4 cup to rinse cycle for large load or 1/8 of cup for small load.
If you have hard water use 1/3 cup per large load.
Blessings!!!

I bet it foams up nicely when you mix it together, doesn't it? Thanks for the info!
Ah, this sounds great. Thanks for sharing the recipe. I think I'll try it :)
I just tagged you. If you would like to play along just visit my blog for the instructions and you can also read what I wrote about myself.
I admit that I use dryer sheets, mainly because I start the wash before heading out the door so often, thus missing the rinse cycle. But I am going to give this a try sometime when I can stick around to use it:) I'm a big fan of both vinegar and baking soda, they're great natural ingredients.
Thanks, Marva! I often use just straight white vinegar in place of fab. soft., especially for towels. I've never mixed a whole batch though... I'm gonna try it!
Happy Spring! (We got about 4 more inches of snow Monday PM-this morning, but it's gone again! We've had--drum roll, please--145 inches of snow this year!!! THAT'S 12 FEET!! In 2nd place for an all-time record in our town. Of course, in our climate, no crops are goin' on right now... much too early)
Cool! I can make that in Poland! Thank you!!!!
