First and foremost I would like to announce that my husband has been hired by the company that won the contract. He and the other driver as well. They wll do the formalities (interview, drug screens and physcials) over the next few days. The company provides insurance (we pay our part) so we do NOT have to get indivuial coverage. Also, it is effective after 60 days and NOT the average 90. That means we will only have to pay the cobra coverage for 2 months (at $846.00 a month mind you). Can you say OUCH!!!??? We do not know how much our part will be with the new company or what hubby's pay will be, but similar I would think to what he makes now. We will find out tomorrow. His position ends on February the 29th (a Friday) and he starts with the new company (same job) the following Monday the 3rd! So.....Praise the Lord with me, raise those hands and shout his glorious name.
I have been really busy today. It is cold here, as well as windy and very rainy. Praise the Lord for that too....we need it (the rain that is)! The boys and I have hung out in our p.j.'s today. I thought that would keep me out of work.....boy was I wrong.
My parents have been out of town since Monday and should be arriving home any moment. I have their supper made with a salad, cornbread and meatball soup.
Our supper is chicken salad. I also have 2 roasts in another crock-pot cooking away for the freezer. 5 loads of laundry behind me. Another drawer cleaned out, organized and simplified (some stuff for yard sale pile). I balanced the checkbook, made a gallon of tea and cleaned the boys humidifer.
I also loaded, unloaded and am reloading the dw (I was behind). I made our bed swept the kitchen. vaccumed the dining room and the living room and swished the toilets. I am going to get the garbage ready since tomorrow is pick up day (actually 2 am). Then I am going to straighten things up a bit more and clean out my purse.
I also played and prayed with my children, cooked their b'fast as well as their lunch, we read , did puzzles, drew, worked on the #2 and the letter A and the color red. I also have read several blogs and commented and would like to take a long hot bath tonight with a good read!
I hope you all have a wonderful evening and I will see you tomorrow. Blessings!!!!

Sounds like you have been busy girl!
I just got a call saying that my parents are coming in from Idaho and spending the night here so I better get in gear myself!
Congratulations to you and your family!
It sounds like you have been a very busy bee today. How I wish I had your energy!
Wow, Marva. You got a lot done. Way to go!
I must say, for having two little ones around, you get alot done!
And I'll second you on that Praise the Lord!!! God really is good at taking care of his children.
Okay, I'm making myself a pest here.
Just a quick questian: Do you slow-cook the roast beef, cut it up, and bag it for the freezer? When I do this mine tends to dry out- any ideas for that? Thanks!
Hope you have a wonderful visit with your folks Mrs. Darling!!!! Blessings!!!!
Thanks nico! We are very excited, just praying all goes well in the next few days!
Somedays I wish someone else had my energy too! ;)
Blessings!!!
thanks mimi! It feels good to get so much accomplished! Blessings!!
I think it is the window of opportunity that you have to take advantage of mykidsmom. When the boys go into their cribs from 2 or so until 4-5 or so, that it's (the window that is). That is their quiet time. They may sleep or just play. That is their downtime for the day though. Now, sometimes I take time for me laying down or even sleeping, reading a few pages or praying. I do not answer the phone during this time either.
They also go to their cribs for about 30-45 minutes of a morning (after they have been up for at least 2 hours for the same). I shower and all during this time. If they are asleep when I get finished I let them sleep. Usually they are not and we get up and do activities.
And yes.......praise the Lord!!!!
No pest at all sweet friend! If you don't know the answer, ask it!!! Yes, I slow cook, shred it somewhat and bag it with the juice/broth. Then freeze. After I defrost I use the juice/broth to do gravy....usually.
I had 2 - 2 1/2# or a little larger roasts. I used one 15 oz. can of beef broth, 1 t. garlic powder, 1 pk. of onion soup mix, 1 t. salt, 1/2 c. Dale's sauce and 1/4 worcestshire sauce. I didn't have quite enough juice to cover both roast so I used 1/2 c. of water to finish. You could use coffee or coke as well. Both of those are wonderful tenderizers.
Blessings and always feel free to ask ANY questions!!!!
Thanks so much- a local store has roasts 1/2 price so I'm going to stock up!
You are more than welcome mykidsmom! I love a good sale too...take advantage of it while you can. Happy I could help and many blessings!!!!!
Hi Marva,
I just found your blog and love it!
I saw the comment on Cobra and thought (in case you haven't asked) that you could approach the new company and ask if they would be willing to pay a portion. Generally, companies will do this since they have the waiting period to protect themselves (from paying Cobra for those people who quit on day 91). If not, it sounds like the job is a blessing in itself so that's great!
Hi Andrea! Thanks for the great suggestion and stopping by. I will give that a shot. Leave a comment for the coupon give away! Blessings!!!!
Marva, congrats on your husband getting hired! I am sure it's a huge weight lifted off your shoulders. You are doing a great job taking care of your family. Don't forget to take care of yourself! God Bless
Thanks Melinda! You are too sweet! Blessings!!!!
