Responsibility

We have always stressed the importance of responsibilty to the boys. They turned 5 in March. Here is a list of their chores and responsibilities.

  1. Make their beds

  2. Put their dirty clothes away

  3. Cleaning their rooms

  4. Setting the table

  5. Clearing the table

  6. Bringin in groceries and things from the car

  7. Putting groceries and things away

  8. Helping fold laundry (washclothes, kitchen linens)

  9. Unloading the dishwasher (no knives or glass)

  10. Helping with supper prep

  11. Brushing their teeth and flossing of a morning (we do their bedtime brushing and flossing)

  12. Dressing themselves

  13. Putting their laundry away

  14. Emptying indoor trash cans

  15. Keeping their toys picked up and put away outside

So how old are your children and what responsibilities do they have around the house?

Our boys have many of the same chores your boys do. We feel Chores are the perfect way to teach our boys to do a job and do it right.

Hugs and much love

Our children have some of the same chores that your boys do, although we don't expect as much of Daniel as we do from Sarah Beth. Children should have responsibility around the home, don't you think? (Obviously, you do!)

I am going to share this post with B and M! they don't do all that much around the house, and I am amazed (in a good way) at the things your boys do - without grumbling, I expect too? It's great that they do so much for you. I will hold out hope that my two get inspiration from yours.....watch this space! HUGS XO

I'm going to have to borrow a few of your chores for my boys to do. That is fantastic that you have two wonderful helpers.

I've been working with my kiddos on putting away their dirty clothes, and picking up all their toys too. Lately I've let them help bring in the groceries too, they seem to love that chore.

With my oldest out of school, he begged and begged for chores today, so I let him use the small stick-vacuum, and sweep crumbs with a dust pan. He loved it, and his little brother fought him for a turn with the vacuum.

Have a fantastic Summer!
