Book Reading

So far in The month of March I am not doing so well with my reading list. You can view it here. I finished no books in the month of February. Actually I did finish one in February (The House That Cleans Itself). that is a total of 4 for the year (now that we are 11 weeks into it). I am currently working on Modern Parents/Vintage Values, Storm Warning, The Husband Project and The Unhealthy Truth. Perhaps if I only read one at a time, I could at least finish one and more quickly! LOL!

So what are reading? What are your reading goals this year?

A New Month!

Well, it appears that February is upon us! I wanted to review my New Year's Goals.

  1. Blog daily. I blogged 15 times compared to the 31 I wanted to. However, it is better than just once.
  2. Take more pictures. I haven't really, although I have taken several of the boys @ basketball games.
  3. Read Bible daily. Most days but not all. I did say read through it in a year. I am now striving for a chapter a day.
  4. Read 2 books or more a month. SUCCESS! DONE! I have read Gabby, Money Saving Mom's Budget and Organizing for Life.
  5. Read more to the boys. DONE! Almost everyday.
  6. Restart daily devo and prayers with hubby. Starting today.
  7. Read and pray as a family. Not done . Ashamed to say.
  8. Declutter and organize. A work in progress, however I would say I am 50% PLUS there in the house.
  9. Toenails have yet to be painted, however, feet are in better shape!
  10. Paint and redo master bath. I have the color picked out! :)
  11. New kitchen counter tops. Maybe late fall.
  12. Stick to defined budget and put $$$ back. Sticking with budget. No $$$ back yet.
  13. Finish cookbook and gt to publisher. Not yet.......
  14. Get back to "magic number" weight wise. Not yet but on my way! :)
  15. Organize pics/clean off sd cards. Not yet.
  16. Use kinder and more encouraging words with family. Trying and struggling daily.
  17. Surrender and trust more fully in God! Yes and continually working on.

How are your goals going?

I Want To Accomplish in 2010

Here is my list of what I want to get done in 2010......

1. Read my Bible through this year.
2. Work up through the 3rd level of The 30 Day Shred dvd and stay with it! (Hence, lose 30 pounds) and too many inches to discuss without losing readers! LOL!
3. Be a better person.....to myself, my children, my husband, my friends, the Lord, my brother and everyone I come in contact with.
4. To make sure I focus on the Lord in everything I do.....spend more time with him, praising him and in his word!
5. Do devotion every morning and start the morning with thanksgiving and prayer!
6. Clean out the boys closets and rearrange them. Mason closet has mainly toys, junk and yard sale things in it. John's has clothes (for them both), toys and unused pull ups that I need to take back to Wal-Mart. They each are big enough for their own things to be in their own closets.
7. Get the back deck built.
8. Pre-treat the front porch and stain it. Also to pretreat the boys play yard.
9. Finish trimming all of the driveway that was left undone last year. That is about 300 feet or so.
10. Work on the cookbook and get it ready for publishing. (Those of that don't know, I started compiling a cookbook when I found out I was expecting the boys and never finished it. Cooking From the Farm.
11. Have all of my dental work done........I was prepared to have it finished when we returned from vacation in October but then I had surgery. I still have 2 fillings and 6 crowns to get done. I have always had awful teeth, even though I brush and floss several times a day.
12. Devote more time to me. You know, a long hot bath, a cup of java, paint my toenails..........those kind of things, just for me.

I guess that is all. So. do you a list for this year? What is on yours?

Blessings!!!

Hopes of the New Year

I am going to list my goals and hopes of 2009. There are many and my prayer is that they all will have happened and be finished when I read this a year from now, while celebrating 2010! There is no particular order or significance

  1. Find and stick with an exercise program and start watching more of what I put in my mouth. My goal is to loose 36 pounds. I hope to see 165 and I will be very happy. I want to be healthy! For those of you that do not know I am 5'10" and wear a size 11 shoe.
  2. To start my card ministry back, I used to send cards out all of the time before I had the boys to anyone that was sick or down and out, etc.
  3. I hope to be more active in our church and particulary the women's ministry program.
  4. I hope more visitors in our home. I hope to feel confident enough to invite more frien ds over more often.
  5. I hope to read my new Bible from front to back.
  6. I hope to pay our one and only credit card off and start the boys college funds, all by April 1.
  7. I hope to have our driveway worked on and have the landscaping done.
  8. I hope to get the house washed and the front porch stained and weather proofed.
  9. I hope to build a back deck and the boys a wooden play set.
  10. I hope to finish my cookbook and finally get it published.
  11. I hope to see the boys potty trained (at least daytime) by their third birthday (March 22).
  12. To start an actual half day homeschooling program for the boys and stick with schedule.
  13. I hope to keep track of every dollar spent this year and reevaluate the yearly budget.
  14. I also hope to be a better wife, mommy, christian and daughter as well as sister and aunt.
  15. I will have my Christmas shopping done and all wrapped by December 1, 2009.
  16. I hope to be a better person all around and be more positive!
  17. I also wanted to add that I hope to take more time for me and take better care of myself as far as my nails, face, hair, ect. Take the extra few minutes like I used to.

There you have it! What are your hopes and goals for 2009? how did you do with last year's goals?
