Updates

Hi again! I hope all is going well. The majority of the time I am reading at least most of your blogs but sometimes I do not have the time or energy. right now I am commenting very little due to lack of time/energy. We are busy, busy, busy here. We are averaging picking 400 or more 8 quart baskets of peaches 6 days a week. then there is the garden and other orchard crops as well. The markets are going well and all is booming. We are so blessed!

I am better just a lot of drainage. The strep is gone! Yay for that!
My Daddy is better except the cough.
My mom's biopsy was NEGATIVE!!!!! Praise the Lord! She goes back in September for a recheck.
My cousin's baby, Brennan went home from the NICU and is doing well.
The other cousin's baby Annsley is fighting hard to stay here on earth. The next 24 hours are critical. She is in the NICU. She is 4 weeks old, born at 32 weeks gestation. Her intestines are dying and we are praying.
My mom's brother passed away last Wednesday morning in North Carolina.
My Mom's sister Mary gave us the news of her mouth cancer on Friday. More surgery to come.
My nephew that left his wife and children has signed divorce papers and was in a serious accident Saturday morning while off duty. He had been to a party and left, flipped his jeep and then another jeep driven by his brother hit his and flipped him several more times. I suspect there is a strong chance he will be fired from the police force. He had broken bones in his back and his pelvis is cracked as well as a minor head injury. He is still in a Birmingham hospital.

We are a very close knit family and everything affects each one of us.

We should here something of hubby's job application this week.

We were off yesterday, the first time in what seems like weeks. I am home today even though i had to go to the office this morning for two hours. Ive made 48 jars of peach salsa that i have sold for tomorrow and have appointments and errands to run shortly. I will see the eye doctor today, yuck.

We pulled up two rows of yellow squash and will be setting more tomato plants in their place. Right now we are picking peaches (5 varieties), Lodi apples, blueberries, nectarines (2 varieties), squash, cantaloupes, tomatoes, zucchini, peppers (5 varieties), eggplant, cucumbers cabbage and blackberries.

Now to leave you with a snide comment that I received by someone in hubby's family. I walked off and could not speak. I was not rude, I just took some baskets to the back packing house and waited there until she and her husband left. I want to know how you would have handled the matter......... She was talking about all of the expectant moms in her family and said my so and so is expecting triplets and they ARE God given not like your twins.................

I cried in the back waiting for them to leave. It was so hurtful. We had help to conceive, but aren't ALL babies God given? WOW!! Talk about a blow. We are blessed that our babies even made it through. So, how would you have handled that?

I hope to write more later! Blessings and hugs to you all!

Yes all babies are god given. I don't know if I could have bit my tongue like you did. I would have probably said something like excuse me what did you say.

I feel for you but yes your boys are god given and are a blessing.I would take it with a grain of salt.

Wow! It is hard to believe people can be so clueless (or heartless) sometimes. I would have to say that indeed, all babies are God's! Of course! He has given the medicine our world uses and what can be wrong with creating life with that medicine?

Bless your heart, it sounds like you have been going through a lot with your family. Enjoy those peaches. We don't have them in our area until August!

Blessings,
Babychaser

All babies are gifts from God.
She is ignorant. I woud have probably said,"I thank God ever day for my precious children, and I'll pray for her. Thanks for the news!" Kill 'em with kindness and a great big smile.

WOW!!! I can't even imagine. Some people can be SO rude. We had help just like you did, and I believe if God didn't want us to have babies then he would have not allowed the help to be a success. All kids are a gift from God. He gives them to us to raise in his name.

Gosh, what a lot of news! It sure does sound like you have been super busy...I hope you get a little chance to rest at some point.

Mmmmmm. Peaches. I think maybe I will have to come and visit you one day to sample some of your delicious peaches.

Glad to hear that you are better, and WOW great news about your Mom, I am so happy!

I am keeping your cousin's sick baby in my thoughts, as I am with your Mom's sister and your nephew. Sometimes life can be cruel.

OUCH. What a nasty comment, and well done you for ignoring it, and not sniping back at the person. I do not understand how people can be so insensitive at times, it really does make me cross. Your boys are beautiful and they are indeed a gift from God, as (I believe) all children are.

Hugs to you, my lovely friend. Only 4 more weeks until my due date! Thinking of you xxx

How Hurtful Marva . . . that is awful!

I agree with Mimi - best to kill them with kindness.

There have been several times that people = friends AND relatives will say something like . . . "do they look like their REAL mom or dad?" (about my boys)

It is really hard to take sometimes, but I always get through it. Many times I will say, "Oh, you mean the biologicals" or "Oh, do you mean the egg donor or sperm donor, because they were NEVER parents to my boys.

Any child...ANY CHILD that is allowed to breath the breath of life....is a child of God....I'm
sorry you had to hear such thoughtless words....this must be a very unhappy judgemental person.
God Bless, Pam, South Bend

Wow! Some people can be so heartless and cruel....you probably did the right thing by not responding....someone that would say something like that probably wouldn't even care what you would have to say in response....Your babies ARE a gift and a blessing from God...enjoy every minute with them!

I'm glad you are feeling better. Considering how busy you are, it must be very, very hard to be sick this time of year.

I cannot believe that woman said that to you. How rude, inconsiderate, and mean. I think you did the right thing by walking away.

It is amazing to me that people are either so completely thoughtless or so utterly cruel. I'd have been less gracious, I think. Maybe I'd have run off and cried...more likely I'd have had some unkind words of my own that ended with "get out of my house and don't come back."

Glad to hear you got a day to rest. Thanks for allowing us a glimpse into your farm life. I will pray that God gifts you with the forgiveness for that lady's rudy comment!!! If you're like me, I hold onto grudges a bit to long. Happy 4th!!! God bless, Heather
VERY happy for your mom's test results! Glory to God, for sure!

I never comment on blogs, but I am just so furious at that story that I had to speak up.
ALL babies are given by God, and the mere suggestion that any help along the way means they are not is tantamount to heresy.
My b/b twins (a year younger than yours) were conceived in-vitro, and after going through infertility and treatments I sincerely believe that the result at the end of that road is so much more a GIFT from God than anything else.

Biblical point - the women in the bible who are explicitly mentioned to have been given their children by God are those who had trouble conceiving (Sarah, Rebekah, Rachel, Hannah, etc)

May you continue to raise your beautiful children with happiness, joy and health.
