The End is Coming

Well, we are nearing the end of peach season. It is a sad time , but an almost near relief. The last few months have been long and tiring.

We are picking two (Flame Prince and White Rose) varieties right now and still have three (Indian Cling, Fairtime and Parade)more to go. The last three may not have enough yield for all of the markets and stores.

With the majority of the apples still a good three weeks away, we may have to stop the markets for a while. That one is still up in the air.

Sales at the home market have slowed a good deal since school has started back (August 7th).
Starting next week I will have a new schedule. I will work at the home market 7:30am-5:30pm, Monday, Wednesday and Friday. If the markets (Tuesday and Thursday) are not going on then I will have those days off. I also will work at the home market 2 Saturdays and 2 Sundays a month.

I will miss going to the markets but am ready for a break at the same time. I will continue to work through most of October. We are planning a beach vacation in October. I cannot wait!!!!!

Blessings!!!!!!

The days I will have off will be used to can and freeze for the hard winter ahead.

How is the bite? I assume that it's better since you didn't mention it. I cannot believe that doctor, but that's how they are sometimes in small hospital ERs.

I'm not sure why, but the title of this post caused me to feel a sense of panic; I'm so glad you were merely talking about peach season, LoL. Our peach season hasn't even arrived, but I'm definitely looking forward to it.

Are you talking about children going back to school already? I know you probably won't have time to answer, but I'm wondering if they do 3 months on and 1 month off out there?

I'm glad things will be slowing down for you (not that canning is slowing down;). That vacation will be so nice for you. Take care~

I so love hearing about your farm adventures (life threatening spider bites excluded!). It's so different from things here...I don't even have a good place for a garden. Idle curiosity...how will you manage october beach vacations when the boys are in school? Or are you planning to homeschool? Have a *ahem* peachy week, Dear! (I know, I know. But I live with boys who think farts are funny. It's all I can manage anymore.)

Hi Deb! The boys are 28 months.....so we are not holding down a strict schedule.

I am going to do some light schooling activities when we take them out of preschool this Fall.

Their last week will be the week before we go on vacation.

I hope this makes sense!

I know what you mean about the funnies......the boys think peeing on each other is just hilarious. Somehow this mommy doesn't find it amusing!;)

Blessings!!!!

Oh my, as the mom of 2 boys that last comment of yours is quite funny Marva, LoL.

NOT funny if it were to happen here, but still..:)

It's great having 2 boys near in age (not quite as near as yours:). It's double the trouble at times, but SO fun in a lot of other ways!
