Thanksgiving Eve

Today has been busy. Daddy had to be at the hospital at 5:15am for his biopsy this morning. They did the biopsy and sent it off to pathology. His pain had returned full speed by yesterday and I can only imagine how miserable he must be with a shaved side of the head and a 2 inch incision to boot. He will start the coumadin back Saturday and he can now finish the steroid pack starting today. The annual hunting weekend is out. Please continue to pray for him and some relief from the pain.

I spent most of the day in the kitchen. I made 4 dozen cookies, 2 sweet potato pies, chicken and dressing, potato salad, have the cranberry sauce a chilling in the fridge, the ham baked, the turkey cooked, the gravy made, the rolls made, the corn (from the garden that i cut off and milked this summer) thawing in the fridge. Tomorrow I will warm everything up, cook the green beans and fry the corn and I will be done.

Are you cooking this year?

Thanksgiving Blessings!!!!

Yes, I am cooking, but I think you read that on my blog. I hope you are having LOTS of people come over to help eat all of that food you are fixing! At least, you got a good bit fixed yesterday which will make today that much easier for you. Way to be organized and prepared!

I went to my mom's for Thanksgiving this year! Planning to have everyone to my house next year! We have been insane cleaning new house and painting, plus trying to pack up this apartment. Kids and dadddy came down with nasty head colds yesterday. No more then ever I have to be the strong one. I feel ya Marva! Praying your own health is back soon! It's been a long road. happy Thanksgiving.

I semi-cooked...I ordered a pre-cooked prime rib and cooked the rest. It was cheaper to buy the prime rib roast cooked from the grocery deli than to buy one uncooked. I have 2 turkeys in the freezer to cook for Christmas. I know how stressful having an ill parent is. My dad is still suffering, unable to sleep, and in a lot of pain. It's really been awful. Your dad is in my thoughts and prayers.
