Cookie Help!

I am a cook not a baker. I love to cook........not to bake cookies. I do basic ones. I do bake several dozen around Christmas....but I want something special for this swap. We are doing a cookie swap in our small group next weekend. Do you have any ideas? I don't want anything too simple.......nor too complicated.

Do you bake? Tell us your favorite! Blessings and thanks!

These are my husband's favorite cookies and everyone loves them. http://southernfood.about.com/od/chocolatecookies/r/bl1214c.htm.

I wanted to thank you for inviting me to your mix party and for the Christmas card. We had a death in the family that week and traveled to Meridian, and I ended up forgetting. So sorry. I hope it went well.

Glad to hear your dad has some more answers to his medical stuff. Just keep him healthy now- and those sweet boys who are getting so big!

Well, you saw the cookies I made yesterday. They really weren't very hard. Just make the cookies, melt the white chocolate, and sprinkle crushed peppermints on top. If you're interested, let me know, and I'll email you the recipe.

I make some chocolate chip ones that have instant pudding in them so they're extra moist/soft. I know chocolate chip aren't very original tho so you might want something else. Let me know if you want the recipe!

Hmmm...I've got bunches. I'm a baker much more than a cook! Any idea what direction you want to go? Sugar variations, cake mix cookies, date pinwheels, oatmeal, chocolate chip, rice krispie... I'd be glad to share any of them!

Thank you for the Christmas card!

By the way, I left a few cookie recipes, but I think they may not have took. Or maybe you're just so crazy busy that you haven't had time to approve them yet :) Either way, I just wanted to let you know that I did throw in my 2 cents worth, lol.

We love Rum Balls~and our friends ask for them every year:
1 box store brand Vanilla wafers-smash 'em up
1 1/2 cup Chopped nuts
3/4 cup Powdered sugar
1/4 cup Cocoa Powder
1/2 cup rum or rum flavoring
or use orange juice
3 tablespoons light corn syrup
Powdered sugar to roll balls in

Using a large bowl, combine crumbs, nuts, powdered sugar and cocoa. Add rum and corn syrup. Mix together well. Shape into 1-inch balls, and roll in powdered sugar. Store in an airtight container for 2 to 3 days to bring out the flavor. Roll balls in powdered sugar before serving.

Hi Marva. I have a great cookie recipe, but I am not sure if you still need them, or if I am too late. They are incredibly easy to make. Let me know if you'd like the recipe?

Also, thank you so much for the Christmas card, it arrived yesterday. I sent yours off last week. I hope you like the one I chose for you, I brought it especially! :o)

Sending you lots of love. I bet the boys are getting excited?

Marva, I have gotten my order, and thank you for the extras! I'm sorry I keep forgetting to let you know that I received it. May I blame it on being pregnant?
