House Guests

Or should I say unwanted house guests? And by the hundreds!!! They seems to be in our master bathroom, the kitchen, utility, dining room and living room. They are in the carpet and seem to have no problem crawling allover it.

ANTS!!!!! I absolutely cannot stand those critters. I can tolerate them....OUTSIDE!!! My house was made for humans though.

We have used the Ant Bait traps, ground cinnamon, vinegar and anything else I can think of. This morning I am going to call Cook's......I hope they have something that will help.

ONE HOUR LATER...................................

On the way to the store for caulking and boric acid. Just call me Marva the exterminator!!! Do not use the acid around children or pets!!! My friend at Cook's said that was the best thing to do. I found a place in the bath I think they might be coming in at......here I come with caulking! The boric acid I will use around the back door and the ant trail leading into the house.

I hope you all have a critterless kind of day!

Blessings!!!!!

I hope that the boric acid works for you. Today the temp dropped here and it should only be in the high 80's. I hope to get all of my gardening chores taken care of. I hope that you have an extra nice day!

Ugh! Ants. I really hate it when I find them in my sugar! Thankfully, that hasn't happened in a while.

Do you freeze squash? If so, how? I would like to stock up while it's fresh if I can.

I have been fighting ants for a month! If anything is left on the counter we have ants in the morning. I have out 4 ant baits and have sprayed. I will have to try to boric acid. It is a real pain!

Kerry has tried the boric acid and even grits with sorgham... We have had little luck... He finally went to the farm bureau co-op and bought a spray mixture (you have to mix it in equal parts or something like that) That spray is the only thing that will work. It can be sprayed on counter tops and in the kitchen... around kids... (it has to dry before the kids can go near it, but it doesn't take long for it to dry) It is COSTLY... not as expensive as an exterminator... but around $75 a bottle... this is the second year we have used it... The ants do not like it at all

I have the same problem at my house, we have had so much rain and it is so hard to get rid of the ants. Yuck! Best of luck getting rid of the "house guests" :)

You're more like wonder-woman and the exterminator rolled into one;) LOL

I hope it works; we haven't had an ant problem in years. But I know people who do, so it will be interesting to hear what finally works for you.

Have a great (and hopefully ant-free) day!

Yep we had an influx of sugar ants earlier this spring. A few still remain. Good luck on exterminating them!

Last year we were under Ant attack and we tried everything - to no avail. I ended up calling the bug guy - he now comes every three months and sprays for those nasty litle creatures so we can be bug free.

Oh Marva, I hate to hear that! I hope you have luck getting rid of them! We had a huge ant hill spring up in our fenced in yard this year, right near our dryer vent and I was just waiting for them to invite themselves in! We tried several things and what worked for us was Terro. We used the granuals outside, but they have bait traps as well. Best of luck, keep us posted!

Blessings,
